Emma Stanton-MacHale. Accredited CBT Therapist, based in Stratford-Upon-Avon

ABOUT ME

I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2012 after studying the Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity CBT at Birmingham University and I am fully accredited with the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) which is the lead organisation for CBT in the UK.  I adhere to the codes of conduct and ethics of the BABCP.

I have also worked as a registered Mental Health Nurse between 2005 and 2019 after studying the Diploma in Nursing (Mental Health) at City University, London,  and have worked in a variety of settings in London and the West Midlands including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Improving Access to Psychological Therapy Services, Medium Secure Services and Learning Disability Services.

As well as working privately I also work for the NHS IAPT Service providing CBT to young people and adults and I am a clinical affiliate for both Ieso Digital Health and Moving Minds. I have experience in lecturing at Coventry University, in teaching CBT to NHS professionals, in running conference workshops and in facilitating mindfulness meditation groups.

I keep my practice up to date with regular supervision and develop my skills with ongoing training. I enjoy working creatively and imaginatively as well as using a strong focus on mindful meditation so that my clients are better equipped to face the future and able to bring about the changes they need to move forwards.

I have a particular interest in working with young people and with women experiencing anxiety and depression before and after the birth of their baby (perinatal support). However I work with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
